A Step For Change was founded by JR Burnett. An Oakland native, business owner, and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience, JR established the organization with a vision to change the life trajectory of youth from underserved Bay Area communities by teaching them equitable  skills. Inspired by his own journey and the challenges he witnessed in his community, JR is dedicated to providing at-risk youth with the tools and knowledge necessary to build successful careers in entrepreneurial industries. Through A Step For Change, JR aims to empower young individuals to avoid criminal paths and embrace their potential, fostering a brighter and more positive future for themselves and Bay Area communities.
